After Chanukah I soak the cups in a bucket with ammonia
I put it on my balcony (I don’t live in a cold climate) I let them soak for 2-3 days
Then I rinse them off and they are super clean clear.

I put them in my dishwasher, and reuse. We have a few boys knH, it would be so expensive to get new ones every year for each child.

Ours don't get so dark. We fill halfway with water, then add oil, & use (pre-lit for ease of lighting) wax coated wicks with the small sz round cork floating disks.
