I'm making marinated salmon now and the recipe calls for vinegar. I have an opened bottle sitting here for some time - could be even years - how do I know if it's still good?

I'm no expert, but I don't see how vinegar could go bad...

It lasts approximately forever, as far as I know. I'd probably be a little more confident in a glass bottle than plastic.

if the vinegar is a clear liquid it is NOT bad. vinegar can last forever. when it is not clear, maybe a breadcrumb fell into it and became moldy. but as long as its clear (and the bottle was sealed) you can use it, no problem.
