Do you have one type of chicken soup that you make the same all the time? Or do you have different types of chicken soups that you make, depending on your mood?
I have at least 7 different types of chicken soup that I make, depending on my mood.

I wouldn't say I have any "type" of chicken soup or for that matter any "type" of cholent (except meat or meatless)--I use what I have. It's never the same twice, and it's always good.

I guess I tend to stick to the same basic one 'cuz everyone likes it. The only variation is whether I put dill or tarragon or both or none. I DO have recipe for other chicken soups--the soupy curry one with coconut milk, tomato-ey one, the one with okras but they're not as popular as the basic one so I don't make it most of the time.
Seraph, would you share us 7 varieties of chicken soups? I'm intrigued.

In theory, one. In practice, many. I use whole chicken roasters, and I take the wings/carcas after we eat the rest and use it for soup...so depending how I cooked the chicken to begin with, the soup comes out a little different.
But the theory is always the same.

My standard one is with chicken, carrots, zucchini, parsley, pumpkin, sweet potato, onion, and salt.
Then theres the one with chicken, carrots, chick peas, pumpkin, coriander, hawaj, salt. Yemenite style.
Then theres the one with a ton of fried onions, carrots, chicken, salt. Eaten with noodles. Inspired by the one I had at akeres habayis's house when I was in my first trimester and it was the only type of chicken soup that didnt make me nauseous.
Then theres the one with onion, carrots, chicken, potatoes, salt. A beitar family's recipe. Simple but so flavorful, even with so few ingredients.
Then theres the one with chicken, carrots, zucchini, pumpkin, coriander, and a lot of salt. My step mil's recipe. Only she uses soup mix in hers. I just up the salt and amount of chicken in it to get that flavor.
Then theres the one with chicken, carrots, sweet potato, potato and paprika. A kid I babysat's mom once sent this with her kid for lunch- it looked so delicious that I asked for the recipe, and it was amazing.
Then theres the one inspired by happy mom's post on her blog one time. Tomatoes, carrots, onions, chicken, zucchini, salt, garlic.
Then there's sil's type that I sometimes make, with garlic, zucchini, sweet potato, carrot, chicken, potato, salt, all cut up small. (The other soups I make all with big chunks and serve it mainly clear.)
And then sometimes I take my standard recipe and throw in a turnip, celery root, parsley root, dill, butternut squash, kohlrabi, raddish, or a mix of any of the above to the original recipe.
That's 9 types.
And depending which mood I'm in, thats the type of chicken soup I make. This week is step mil's recipe.
