At that time I was doing really well in my emuna and practice, and learned some really unmotivating news. I fought hard not to slip so much, but honestly I did, because I wondered why G-d would send me such news at that moment, when I was not only going well, but actually going up (don't worry it was long ago).
So. Now I think I (partially) know why. There was someone I needed to help.
Long story short, while finding more about the situation, I met this girl online. Very, very assimilated Jewish girl. Think, Xmas celebrating and not knowing when Hanuka is, in couple with a non Jew and they have a child, absolutely no connexion to anything Jewish, etc.
Well. I mentioned I got married in Jerusalem once, and it rekindled something in her. She pmed me, I answered, we discussed a bit, she added me on Facebook. Some time ago, I wrote in my Facebook profile that I needed to spend some time in a certain city. She writes me she's from there and can help. We start talking about what's there to do. I ask her if she knows any good kosher restaurant. She tells me she's not "inside" the community but will search addresses online and even try them!
That's what she does.
Today we exchange pms again. She casually mentions she has loved some of the restaurants, is interested in finding more about the community, and... the non Jewish boyfriend is an ex. There's a new boyfriend who is Jewish. WOAH. Had I not heard this precise news, I would never had met this girl, and later contacted her about her city. Maybe she would not have been interested in the community, and met the Jewish guy, and her child would still be in a Xmas celebrating family...
