Has been like this since Thurs. I've never seen so much snot in my life lol. Very very runny nose and wet cough. Sometimes she coughs so much she gags. Threw up cough syrup tonight.

What do I do?

Did you go to the doctor yet? I don’t think you are supposed to give babies cough syrup.

Prob wise to see a doctor and make sure your kid isn’t wheezing and doesnt need any meds.
In terms of the coughing and congestion, saline spray up the nose, nose suctioning, saline nebulizer and humidifier in her room

Will call doc first thing tomorrow iyh. I've got a sliced onion on the nightstand. IDK if it will help but it def won't hurt. Did saline spray, suctioning, and have a humidifier going. Hoping for some sleep for all of us.

Saline in the nebulizer, steam bath for 15-20 min. Humidifier you mean by the hot or cold, my experience is that the hot one works much better, if you have vicks vapor rub it onto her undershirt.

If the cough is waking them at night my Dr recommends ibuprofen so that they manage to sleep the night.

There are lots of things going around now that it can be like flu, covid, micro plasma (which leads to walking pneumonia or bronchitis) and more.
Please check it out. Some need antibiotics and others it’s just Tylenol and Motrin. There is a natural cough medicine for toddlers that helps if taken every 2 hours / as directed by your pediatrician.

Albos oil in the warm mist humidifier helps more than cool mist. The machine must be fully cleaned or it gets moldy causing more respiratory issues.

Most cough syrups are not for under 2 so just double check.
Refuah sheleima. Welcome to this time of year! But go to the Dr just in case.

14 month old had cough and cold which ended up being rsv that caused bronchialitis and had trouble breathing, landed in the hospital.
Bh doing better now but in a young child , things can escalate super quick so definitely be on the lookout.
Amen it should just be a cough and cold and get over quick! All totally normal this time of year Smile
Rsv going around by me , not sure if other areas too

Sorry not to scare anyone but definitely got to be on the lookout

We only have a cold mist humidifier. Does that help anything?

Just a note. Many cases of micro plasma are not coming up on the viral panel. It’s taking a week for results on the blood panel. But if left untreated it turns into bronchitis or walking pneumonia.
My 18 month had walking pneumonia. Within 2 days of getting a cough.
