Where would be a good place for us to move? Looking for a welcoming, accepting, friendly community, would love a mixed crowd of all different types, mostly jpf. Somewhere affordable, especially in terms of housing, access to kosher, mikvah… all Jewish needs, and has a great school. And we’re a young family (children just going into school) so has to be somewhere with other young families. Does this place exist?

University Heights, Ohio?

Search Cleveland in the search bar here for lots of threads. Here are houses in UH. Is this what you mean by affordable? Most houses aren't big.

Came to say this. First thought that came to mind is Cleveland. Just make sure the school has room for your kids

Thanks to the people who suggested University heights, Cleveland. It seems like a fit. I’ll look into it some more.

Chicago has this. We are one of the only OOT communities I know of that has a solid centrist option for schooling ie single gender classes but not yeshivish. The yeshiva/bais yaakov also has a lot of JPF families. Lots of young families. People are very friendly.

I was going to say Jacksonville, FL, too.
If your kids are just starting school, you're the perfect age where you can swing this. My kids are 10 years older, so it won't work for us unfortunately.
It sounds like a wonderful jpf community in a growing area. The houses are affordable now, but probably will go up a lot in the next 5 years.
Hatzlacha!

Define affordable! I live in Baltimore and I honestly don't find it much more affordable than living in/near Lakewood for example. We don't have vouchers and housing has gone up like crazy.

Keep in mind OOT tuition tends to be a lot more as well.

You may want to look into Dallas, (north community), Houston, Cleveland, Cincinnati if you're willing to go that small, Waterbury... big range of communities I just listed.

Rochester! Definitely affordable, both housing and tuition wise, and a beautiful, diverse community
