My preteens (boy 12 and girl 10) are going through a rough stage and I was advised to take them out once a week individually and spend some nice quality time with them. I don't have a generous budget for this-preferably $5-10 per time.
I'm looking for ideas-especially my daughter who needs lots of stimulation and won't be happy with simple wholesome quality time.
Please help with any recommendations, thank you so much!

Are you able to be physically active? You can go biking with them, in line skating in a park, basketball, racquet ball in a park

They would not be interested in athletic activities. They're more the going out for ice cream type -which I can do but after a few times it will not be exciting anymore

Does it have to be outside your home? How about scheduling a paint party night? You spend quality time painting. It’s relaxing
