DH is looking to leave yeshiva and join the workforce. He is extremely smart and committed. Excellent work ethic. He just doesn’t know what type of job he wants. Doesn’t want to be in college for years. Would consider a course or something like that. Wants to be able to support a family eventually but ok starting for very little. We’ve been through the “regular” suggestions and nothing is speaking to him. So I’d like to hear the out of the box stuff, the stuff we’re not thinking of. What niche jobs have you heard of?

Is he social and outgoing? Life insurance might be an idea. Some people are very successful there especially in the frum world.

No, not really. He is totally normal and socially aware, but he’s more introverted and doesn’t particularly have a knack for people.

He could take a course in software development, they’re like $7-10k bootcamps that are 6 months long or so. Starting salary around 80k, developers with 1-2 yrs experience can make 100k easily. Ability to work from home, or not to depending on preference

Thanks I’m a software developer and I don’t think it’s right for him. Like I said, we’ve discussed the more “regular” things, I’m looking for ideas we haven’t heard of before. Can be truly niche.

If he's mechanical - home inspector? It's a course, not college IIRC. Definitely out of the box. Other stuff like plumbing, electricial, HVAC there's always a need for.

If he’s a creative- a party planner. Or a production manager. Those are extremely well paying when riding high.
Alternatively, my brother works a full time job but does petite fours and other insane Parisian baked goods whenever he sees an oven mitt. Could have started a side biz of that but chose a reg day job.
