He has never been a big sleeper. But as he gets older he cannot fall asleep most nights until 9:00 at least. Even though he is in bed by 8:00. What should I do?

Sounds like my 8 yr old. In bed at 7:45 but still awake at 9. If we give him his Nintendo or a book. that keeps him awake. If we don't let him have anything he kvetches that he cant fall asleep!

My 8 year old is in bed at 7:30-8:00pm every night but rarely falls asleep before 9 or 10pm. She is exhausted and hard to wake up every morning. She does get a lot less exercise this year than last year since the home work load is so much higher being in 3rd grade, but we had this problem last year too.
Do you all think it is the age?

My 5 yr old does this. I got him a relaxation cd plus an exercise video for kids for an after school activity. They're supposed to come today, I can't wait to try it.
