Due to a few reasons, we might not be able to move this coming summer as we would like. We would be moving to a different state.
Our kids will be in first grade and kindergarten next year.
Would it be doable to move in the late fall or winter?
Has anyone done it?

They are young should be ok to move at those ages. Just find out how the new school wants you to do it. I think late fall is better than winter transition wise.

Your kids are very very young, it’s definitely doable

I think people don't always have a choice when they need to move and if this is what you need to do and its best for your family over all its not the end of the world. Ideally under your time frame I would think its best to start the new school right after the chagim because really all the kids are readjusting they got used to school and then unused to it and would all be starting from the same place.

My friend moved mid year for a job and the new location had no issue with it kids adjusted just fine but she had to pay some tuition in the school she left because she had signed a contract for the year.

I have the same issue although my kids range from 12 to 6.. We will move from England to the Status. Due to different circumstances I can't wait until the new year. All we can do is pray

We did it with kids multiple ages. Worked out completely fine B”H
Just find out ahead of time supplies they’ll need, which type knapsack kids typically have in the class, what kinds of snacks etc so they fit in as much as possible
Hatzlacha!

We moved with 4 kids ranging from 5.5 months to 5th grade at the very end of February. It definitely was an adjustment for my older kids, but BH worked out just fine. Looking back (10 years later) it was absolutely for the better for my family and I have no regrets.
