I'm probably talking to more chareidi circles here.. but to anyone who seperates/discourages interactions between genders past a certain age... (what age? Very Happy )

I have so many questions!

When do you start talking about it with your kids? Is it a rule you enforce? A sensitivity that you cultivate? Is it only for school, or also encouraged when out of school? Who does it extend to and how? Sisters? Cousins? Family friends? Do tell them straight out - no talking to opposite gender? Or do you subtly discourage it and eventually they pick up a sensitivity?

I moved slightly to the right of my fsmily hashkafically, and this, I internalized it in an unhealthy way, and to this day I have trouble speaking normally to men. I want to teach my kids proper tznius, but I want to make sure it's also healthy and balanced.
