Mushroom barley meat soup
2 carrots
2 stalks celery
1 small box mushrooms
1 Spanish onion
6 cloves garlic
Boneless flanken
3/4 c barley

Dice the onions and sauté until golden
Add the meat
Dice the rest of vegetables and add sauté until soft
Add barley salt and pepper to mixture
Add water
Bring to a boil once boiled lower flame

My riff on a Yemenite inspired soup that I wanted chunky
1 piece fresh turmeric
5 cloves garlic
1 Spanish onion
1 can diced tomatoes
2 carrots
3 Yukon gold potatoes
2 stalks celery
2Tablespoon tomato paste
1 can chickpeas
1/2 cup barley
Boneless flanken
2 teaspoons ground tumeric
2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon corriander
Salt and pepper to taste

Sauté onions garlic and fresh tumeric
Add meat and rest of veggies ( diced small)
Sauté until soft
Add spices ,tomato paste, barley, and chickpeas
Cover with water and bring to a boil
Once boiled lower flame
Once soup is cooked take out meat and shred
The add it back to the soup
