I’ve been wondering about this. Can you tell when something’s AI not because of it being not exact or perfect or too perfect but just because something about it doesn’t feel real?

I came across this website that generates real and AI faces and you need to click which is real and I got so many wrong . I’m wondering if some people are just better at feeling it out because I’ve seen people say they can just sense when it’s not real even if everything checks out and looks completely realistic.

If you try it curious what your take is.

Interesting, just tried it. I got it wrong when looking at the face but when I looked at the background and if the transition between the face and background looked normal, it was much easier to tell.

I can because I’m a photographer and I have an eye for it since I work on real portraits all day. I find so many ads cringe and when I point out how it’s obviously AI no one else sees it or sees the flaws.

I only did 4 but got them all right... I've worked with photos though for marketing materials with AI adjustments...

Ok it would make sense but that’s because of the imperfections .

There are people that are not trained in design or photography that say they automatically sense when an image of a person is fake. Curious how common that is because on some level it makes sense to me and yet to me so many of these AI pics to feel very real .

I got 5/5 right. The AI images all had some fake detail in them, if you look closely.

I got most wrong and I’m a photographer and artist and have done many face swaps in photoshop. Should I switch careers?

I got 8/8 correct. I’m a graphic designer, and have a keen eye for detail. I recognize immediately when an image is made with AI. I also recognize when headlines or articles are written with AI

Nope. I can’t tell.
I did 10. I was wrong 6 times. Most of the time I was guessing. There were four times I was sure I knew and out of those I was wrong twice. Just to add to your study InnerMe!

True it got most wrong, then tried again and got almost all correct. I noticed that if any of them had a beauty mark or something a little out of the ordinary they were real as I guess AI doesn’t add boo-boos so to say.

It's not just Binah.

I can always tell. There's something artificial about it and often mistakes in details like perception, depth etc.

It really depends on how talented the AI artist is.

My husband is super super talented in producing realistic AI images, and often goes through the magazines and comments on all the badly produced images Very Happy

Same. I’m a photographer and I know the nuances and the lighting and sometimes it’s a little too perfect/symmetrical, or wrong lighting. I just did it and got almost all of them correct

I just got them all right. Im a graphic designer and occasionally use AI (not generated photos of people though)

It can be nuanced. Often the key to look for is the imperfections that make sense for a REAL photo. The imperfections should make sense, like the slight asymmetry that a lot of people have in their smile...
