My 5 year old cut her hair with my nail scissors. It was 2 hours after she was supposed to be sleeping, and I was a little frustrated already.
She only cut off a small chunk and it wasn't noticeable, but aside for telling her that we never ever cut things that aren't paper, I said look now your hair isn't as pretty. In my adult mind I meant it wasn't even anymore or when there are now prices that don't fit in a pony, but I feel so so guilty because she probably thinks I told her she isn't pretty.
I know it was the wrong thing to say. Should I bring it up?
How can I repair this?

You can clarify what you meant tomorrow. Tell her you meant it won't look even, but of course she will always be beautiful.

Agreed, make it right tomorrow. As you're making her hair, you can point out what looks wrong, but how she still looks beautiful cuz mommies are (amongst many other things) magicians.

I don't see why what you said is so bad. You didn't say that she isn't pretty, you said her hair got botched, which it did. Reality check.

5 kids. 4 haircuts I tell them every time they look weird and awful and they never do it again. They need to know the consequences
