I did no laundry in the 9 days except a tiny load I needed.
I usually do laundry every day.
How are you dealing with this?
Please share any laundry tips to deal with this immense amount of laundry.

I got clever this year. Bought a second hand dryer on eBay.
We have a launderette down the road.
I put 2 loads on there, and one at home straight away when it was chatzos.
With the 2 dryers it's quite literally a breeze this year. BH!

By me it's lack of hanging space.
I hang literally Everything besides underwear, socks, and towels.

Planning to start with a few sets of clothes for everyone so I know everyone has what you wear for the next day or two and I can feel more relaxed about getting it all done

Unfortunately I had to do laundry already this past week... my kid had accidents and then tossed the wet stuff into the laundry basket so everything got peed on.
But I still have an avalanche. And we are traveling tomorrow. And I am working today.
We will bring dirty clothing. They have a machine (going to family) and they are aware and OK with this plan.
I plan to do a load or two tonight so everyone has something for the next 2 days. And then do catch up. And I know we will come home to dirty clothes.

I bought a compartment hamper so all the colors are already sorted. Makes it much more manageable instead of just dealing with piles and piles of dirty laundry.
But it’s still overwhelming.
This is the first year I didn’t do any laundry at all during the 9 days since my youngest is already too big to be considered little.
Also, very overwhelming is that my daughter came home from camp during the 9 days. Everything is dirty and has a bad smell.
I can’t wait to get started especially since we are leaving on a trip right after shabbos!

Oh no that's hard. I dry a lot in the dryer especially now on vacation. I don't spend a lot on my kids clothes. I have 2 big racks, and a radiator one. They're all full now. Maybe you need to buy more and just have them around the house as a temporary solution? It's hard! I found it really difficult. I also didn't wash for the whole 9 days besides for one really small one.

I should buy another one. Especially my kids pants are getting bigger and taking up more space.

don't know where you're located... But laundry dries in minutes when hung out in the sun.

I have a high capacity machine and can get most of it done in 4-5 loads between today and tomorrow. Always buy the biggest washer and dryer that you can. I hang almost nothing. Everything except towels gets dried on low or extra low and it works great.

In such situations, I try to put as much as I can in dryer on low temp. Besides really delicate clothes, such as expensive Shabbos clothes. Nothing has gotten ruined yet.
I've done it a lot recently in bungalow colony when we had constant rain and nothing was drying.

Yes definitely worth getting another rack or 2 even if only for 3 times a year. Mine gets stored under one of my kids beds.

You mean fresh air?
I purposely hang my clothes outside weather permitting- beats the musty basement smell.

No. The outdoor smell I'm referring to is definitely not fresh air. It's the smell your kids come home with after being outdoors.
Can't describe it well. Can someone help me out?
Clothing hung indoors does not get a smell.

I guess that depends if you live somewhere very urban, so outside smells like smoke, weed, garbage, exhaust fumes, or more suburban where you have more trees, grass and fresh air.
