My daughter called me earlier saying she is so homesick and can I please bring her home from camp.
She said she likes the camp, the girls, and the counselors. She just gets very homesick when she has free time to think.
She doesn't want me to call anyone in the camp bc then she will be the nebach case, she just wants me to bring her home.
PS this is her 3rd yr in sleepaway camp and this is the first time she even mentioned being homesick.

I would call the camp mother. This is her job. She’s there to give homesick kids attention and help them cope and make it through camp. They are discreet and it’s not embarrassing. It’s more embarrassing to leave camp in middle.

I would try to find out if something happened. It’s not her first year and you said this is the first time she’s homesick.

She did go to camp with a close friend who is also homesick. However, for the friend it is the first time she went to camp. My daughter says her friend keeps venting to her how homesick she is.

As a kid who was very homesick I will just tell you this OP: whatever you do, don’t make her feel like she can’t vent to you, or like you don’t want her home, or like she can’t come home. You can discuss her feelings but if she 100% wants to come home, bring her home.
