Will the car dealer let me drive it and let a car mechanic check it?
Will a car mechanic go to the dealer to check it?
How does that work?

I think the seller will let u take it to a mechanic to check out. If your in lakewood there are dealers that sell used cars and have their own mechanic on premises to make sure all is good before selling.

Do you know if those Lakewood dealers deliver to Brooklyn? Or is there a reputable, reliable place to buy in Brooklyn?

There's a place in lkwd that I believe pple like and they have a place in Brooklyn also. Called Priority Auto Mall. Pretty sure they were open in Brooklyn first for quite a while.
