Boys sleep away camps end before the day before elul. They need a few days to get the boys home before yeshiva starts.

Did camp officially get shorter? It used to be a full 8 weeks

I think it depends on the year, specifically the Hebrew calendar.
This year I think 8 weeks worked out. Next year Elul starts earlier.

Thank you. I’m really trying to figure out if I can send my girls to camp for first half. It’s too complicated to take them out of camp and transport them home (and then probably back again)

My next year bar mitzvah aged son is giving me anxiety! That’s why I started this thread!
My girls who just came back from camp and planned to go back with all their friends for first half are giving me anxiety too!!
I wish I could have given birth a few weeks earlier or later (12 years ago) because planning next summer is going to be very complicated.

I brought my girls home from camp for my bar Mitzva this summer. It wasn’t so complicated. There was a van Thursday night and back again Monday morning. I planned the bar Mitzva for shabbos and Sunday night party so they only had to come home once. It was fine bh all worked out

We wouldn’t be able to do that. It’s too far.

I know someone else same week bar Mitzva she said her girls didn’t go to camp first half because of bar Mitzva. Can they go second half to camp?? Or skip a year of camp?
