Anyone have a tried and true method of getting expo marker stains out of clothing?

Lestoil.

Dip an old toothbrush in Lestoil and spread just enough to cover the stain. Wait 10 to 15 minutes. Rub gently with a Dobie pad until stain is removed (if it's a delicate fabric, rub the fabric against itself instead of using a scrubbing pad).

Rinse out the Lestoil residue from the garment, under running water in the sink. Then launder the item as usual. (Yes, it smells bad, like car oil.)

Amodex stain remover is specifically designed for ink. You need to apply it to dry fabric (don’t pre wet it) and work it in and then daub it off with a paper towel till the ink is removed.

My daughter recently colored her dress with highlighter.

I rinsed and brushed it out with rubbing alcohol and then some dish soap.

Maybe it'll work for expo marker too?
