Why do all the boys have a week off now? I thought they have off at the end of the summer. So now parents have to take off twice?

Boys in Lakewood have 6 weeks of summer vacation exactly. Camps are 4 weeks. Which gives them 2 weeks off no matter how you slice it.
Sometimes it's a week, then 4 weeks of camp, then a week.
Sometimes it's half a week, 4 weeks of camp, then a week and a half.
Sometimes it's a week and a half, 4 weeks of camp, then half a week.
Either way, there are always 2 full weeks not camp.
Always have been.
It's rough. Sorry.

Every year it’s either like this or two weeks at the end of summer.

They can't start daycamp yet because mesivtas (and all the counselors) still have yeshiva for another week.
As it is, the mesivtas are being pressured to end 3 days early so the boys who are counselors don't miss yeshiva.

I have boys in 2 different schools.
First son finished school on Monday already . Half day.
2 younger boys are finishing on Thursday. M
My older son is already bored during the day and daycamp doesnt start until next Wednesday.

And some mesivta camps are starting Thursday or Friday. My boys are. Either boys got permission to leave early or mesivtas are just ending early if enough boys are leaving.

my boys end thursday and day camp starts monday july 29th until august 22.
at least they end together with the girls
this week thurs and fri they will be home tho
