Separate ketchup?

I have separate salt and pepper shakers for milk and meat but use the same ketchup - should I have separate? My kids are getting bigger now and starting to take ketchup themselves. It suddenly occurred to me that they might not be careful to make sure the lid doesn’t touch their plates or food.

We were told that if the ketchup is poured over hot foods, we need separate as the steam of the food can go in to the bottle.

We do separate ketchup.
Ever saw a kid trying to pour ketchup on his pizza and ends up dipping the entire opening ontop of the slice? Or ontop of anything dairy. It slips easily also and it lands on hot milchig stuff.

We have two. I never asked, but it made sense. As someone else said, all you have to do is watch a kid try to eat pizza with ketchup to know for sure that you need a second bottle for meat.

We don't only because I never cook with it and my kids never use it for real milchig food. If they have noodles cooked in a milchig pot, it's pareve still and not yad soledes bo by the time they eat.
They don't add it to pizza or ziti or anything like that, but if they did, then I'd have 2.

Nope b/c I pour the ketchup for my kids. Maybe when they are bigger. It's not a bad idea.

I definitely do not have separate salt and pepper. But I do sprinkle from up high.

We are not big ketchup eaters so we are careful
Noodles or pizza with ketchup - yuck
Ketchup is for French fries

We do. Honestly even adults touch ketchup without washing their hands. Think touched a franknblank, burger, eating fries from flieshig plate with fingers. Serving pizza and fries.
It sits on the table and gets touched...

I am trying to figure out what milchik foods you put ketchup on.

It's not a replacement for tomato sauce so why would you put it on pizza or ziti?

Yes , ketchup and honey. Really anything that steam will go into. Spices as well.
Another missed item: the urn spout , don’t pour directly into a non parve item

My family doesn't, others on this thread said they do.

I've seen people add it to eggs which some people make milchig. I've seen some people make "pizza" on bread or pita with ketchup instead of sauce.
People do these things. We don't, hence we don't have a need to have separate bottles.

My kids have it with mac n cheese, or cheesy pasta. Also, dairy eggs, and dairy veggie burgers.

I have never thought to ask. I will now.

No. We use it very seldom and usually splort it on the plate to dip the food into it. I never use it while cooking. Occasionally I add it to pasta as a sauce, but the pasta is pareve.
