Per the advice of my lactation consultant, I have been almost exclusively pumping since my baby was born, and its actually working out pretty nicely- I don't mind doing it and I have more milk than I ever had nursing my other babies.

Issue is that she recommended that I rent the Medela medical grade pump and I have been renting it for nearly 4 months and its starting to really add up. I tried switching to the one that insurance gives, Medela pump in style, but I really really do not like it.

I hate the way the suctions feels on my nipples; its really uncomfortable, it makes me really really irritated.
(feels almost like unwanted zxual touch, like if my husband touches me there when I am not aroused, if that makes any sense. sorry TMI.)

also, I am not getting nearly as much milk during each session.

anyone else had this issue? Is there any pump thats more similar to the medical grade one, or is there a reason its a 1800$ machine.

I haven't tried the medela medical grade one, but I like the spectra better than the medela pump in style
