Being that it’s the hot topic of the day...
Do you feel judged for feeding your baby the way you see fit? Discussions on other threads but would like to see it in a poll.

Where do I fit in? What

I breastfed exclusively and didn't get judged for it.

Actually though, I'm starting to feel judged a tiny little (eg. my mother commented that maybe it's time to stop nursing), because my 'baby' is already 21 months and still wants to nurse everywhere. So I guess there goes that...

Formula fed 4 out of 5 and I didn't feel judged for it. I tried to breastfeed with all, only managed with one of my kids, exclusively breastfed for a year. So I'm in the fed is best camp, and don't look down on anyone.

Actually I do. I look down on those mums who starve their baby because they won't let go of breastfeeding. And those that make themselves into absolutely shmattes and falling apart. They don't stop complaining, yet they're not willing to give up the nursing and formula feed. I guess I do judge. Makes me mad.

I formula fed and felt tremendous guilt that I didnt nurse successfully. didnt grow up with nursing women in my family, my mother told me to take care of myself first since I was so miserable after nursing for a month. going to go to a better LC this time round and really try hard to nurse

I did too with my oldest baby. I was devastated that I had to stop. I managed to breastfeed my 2nd for a year so there is hope for you.
After that my baby's had reflux or other issues that prevented me from nursing more than a few days, to 3 weeks.
I'm jealous of those that nursing comes easy to. I know it's never easy, but that it works out for them.

Same. Voted other because I BF, but extended past "normal" and was judged at that point.

I feel that nursing is a personal decision. Just like what you feed your kids as they grow up. Whatever works for you. My sister only nursed until getting pregnant with her first few kids. Now with her older kids she is really into it. I nursed my first two and loved it but my third couldn't nurse and my fourth had lip tie and couldn't latch. I pumped for a few months. I dont judge how people feed their babies because nursing is a lot of work in the beginning and I feel formula is a lot of work too. I do judge people who don't clean bottles properly or give bottles to sleep when not necessary.

I have to hand it to the one who voted that they judge others, I'm impressed they can admit it.
I did both for a while to make everyone happy, but my baby who's the only one that really matters was miserable. So currently I bottle feed him.

Op, you asked a question but there's no option for "no".

Right, because the poll was really meant for those who feel judged... I tried to add it later but it didn’t work anymore.

Same. And also don't care what others do.

(I only take issue with the "fed is best" line but that's for another s/o thread .. )

The only time I felt judged was when I nursed my one before my baby. She nursed until 3+ (it was only at night and only for comfort at that point)
I am bottle feeding now, and I don’t think I’ve received any judgement.

Also voted other. I breastfeed and don’t feel judged for it. I had a baby the same time a few of my sisters did and I’m the only one breastfeeding. I’m totally ok with it and so are they. No one should be judged for doing what works best for them.

I do feel judged though. I know formula is garbage, teh first ingredient is corn syrup. But it doesnt help when people say "fed isnt best, fed is bare minimum. breast is best" ive seen that rhetoric tons online
