Shliach to Attend Burial Ceremony for Jewish Bones

The Jewish community in Stuttgart, Germany, is currently preparing for a burial ceremony for the bones of Holocaust victims that were discovered on an airfield at an U.S. Air Force base in the city. Previously, a Nazi concentration camp was located at the site. The German authorities and the administration of the base have given their approval for the ceremony. However, technical arrangements are continuing to be made.
The local Chief Rabbi and head shliach Rabbi Schneur Zalman Trabnick will attend this moving ceremony, which is due to take place on 14th Kislev.

it was not at all simple to get to the point where the bones were allowed to be buried. The German govt wantd to do DNA testing on the bones, for some legalistic reason. A group of askonim from here had to go to Stuttgart a few times to convince the govt not to do the testing. B"H they were matzliach.

Because if they would find the killers (how likely is that?) then they would need evidence of who the victims are (and how exactly will DNA testing help, since no one knows the names of the victims or their family members, if any survived.)

but don't we already know who the killers are Confused ? it is not a murder case they are checking up it is the holocaust they can't find nothing of evidence on whom these people are and who did it. people love to make trouble. and to top it off we are not asking who the killers are since we know, we just want to bury them in a proper way.

Exactly, and that's why these askonim made numerous trips to Germany until they were able to get the agreement of the govt not to run tests.
