Would mainstream media report busted child sx ring?

If an affluent, social media famous couple adopted kids, raped them, and prostituted them out to others, do you think mainstream media would report it?

When Josh Duggar (former employee for Family Research Council, a conservative Christian lobby group) was caught with child [filth], that was reported everywhere. I remember seeing it on FoxNews and asking "who is Josh Duggar?!"

Have you seen THIS (https://townhall.com/tipsheet/miacathell/2023/01/17/zulock-case-pt-1-n2618219) reported anywhere mainstream?

It's obviously horrible but I'm not sure why you'd expect it to blow up everywhere like Josh Duggar did. These are random people. You might not have heard of the Duggars but their show is huge; they have millions of viewers. That's why you saw it everywhere. The article you posted is trying to make it seem like this couple is a pair of celebrity influencers but the Instagram account linked has a whopping 500 followers. My mom has more than that. Unfortunately s-xual abuse of children is simply not a rare occurrence. There are many many many stories just like this one happening every single day. It's not front page newsworthy. But it is absolutely terrible of course.

4th MediaMattersforAmerica (liberal) complaining about Conservatives reporting the case, giving few details of the abuse but being sure to downplay it by adding that "zxual abuse is unnervingly common" -- nothing to see here people, just mean conservatives again.

Also, I may be naive, but while I believe the latter is common and happening every day, I don't believe it's common for people to rape and harlot their own children.

Yes, this story is awful but why should the public specifically care if they don’t know this family at all? Awful things happen every day. There needs to be some specific wow factor for people to want to read about it (it feels yucky to put it that way but it’s true )

The more I think about it, the more it bothers me that people's response to this is often "child s-xual abuse is found everywhere, if you live in a glass house, don't throw stones", because the s-xual abuse that is found everywhere is NOT parents making and distributing prnography of themselves raping their children, and selling zx with their children to strangers on the internet. THAT is NOT common.

It's like saying "hey guys, let's not bother talking about the man who stabbed 4 college students to death in their beds in Idaho, because men stab each other in bar fights every day in the US, and it's all just knife violence which is common and happens everywhere".

I'm saying the viewers are (unfortunately) common, but the makers are rare. It's not a one-to-one relationship where for every viewer there is a maker.

anyway, these things are awful. lots of awful things are reported in the news, but mainstream news focuses on stories that impact MANY people. this, while horrible, doesn't impact the lives of most people who consume mainstream news. so no need to report on it. look at what is covered in respected, mainstream news: it's business, financial, geopolitical conflicts, medical, etc.

I'd also highlight that this situation is very similar to what zev steen of baltimore has done and is charged with. that certainly didn't make any national headlines either, and quite literally is an example of this happening elsewhere.
