Kallah birth control pills and chron's

My daughter that's a kallah needs to take birth control pills to regulate her cycle. She in on SCD diet for chrons disease. I heard some types of pills can be really bad for her condition. Our OB isn't familiar. Does anyone know?

Def speak to her gastro before starting. It's not worth putting her in a flair. I ask my GI before starting any meds prescribed by other drs as once in a flair it is very hard to get under control

She doesn’t “need” to take anything.

Her health is more important than avoiding chuppas nidda. Much, much more important.

I had a different problem when I was getting married we spoke to a Rabbi and he said not to start, it could cause a bigger problem.

What did your Rabbi say?

I'm on birth control and have crohns with scd. Bh no flares. Speak with your gi. They are familiar with dif pills.

Most kallahs would be miserable being a nidda at their wedding if they can help it.
Best if she can find a bc pill that would be ok for her.

The pills have to work not make things worse

I had a Chuppas Niddah. Not so bad. Glad I didn't take any pills.
A relative was on pills and started spotting the day before the wedding. She didn't get to the mikvah until 3 weeks later.

I'll take my 12 days, thanks.

(ETA: For added fun, look at the threads on how BC pills have affected Shalom Bayis, emotional health, and fertility. Is the risk really worth it to avoid a Chuppas Niddah? Obviously if you are planning on being on BC for a period of time following the wedding you may as well start earlier for this potential benefit. Otherwise, think about if it's REALLY worth the risk.)

Niddah at the wedding is unpleasant but not the end of the world, I took the pills and ended up bleeding a few days before the wedding and was niddah until after Sheva brachos. My cycle was messed up for months after also.

If they can help it without causing other harm. If she's prepared for the possibility in advance, it shouldn't make her miserable.

Sorta OT but I think it's worth taking BC pills sometime before being a Kallah to see how you do on it, rather than waiting and taking them for the first time before your wedding when they can mess you up.

My DD took BC pills before going on vacation with friends (to push off her period) so she knows she's okay with it.

He said they're all fine. I'm pretty sure that's not the case - anecdotally speaking.

It's possible it's very individual and we need to decide if it's worth the risk.
