The clothing situation in my house is out of control. Please help me.
I have 4 children and a spouse who are ND. I have ADHD. I am committed to make my house functional even though it is really hard for me. Unfortunately the others in my home don't care either way. I have cleaning help once a week but she doesn't do laundry.
I just can't seem to keep up with the laundry and with keeping the clothes neatly away.
One child is a teenager and does her own laundry but she hangs up her stuff everywhere and forgets to put it away and the hanging rack is backed up. She almost never puts her stuff in her closet and her clothes live on the second bed in her room.
I was trying to train my next child to do their own laundry but I'm not sure that's working. I have to be on top of him otherwise he doesn't do it and he definitely doesn't do it start to finish. It may be too much for him.
What seems to be too much across the board is putting laundry in the hamper and taking clothes out of the closets and dressers neatly. Every time I turn around theres clothes everywhere, clean and dirty. Kids get dressed and undressed all over the house so the clothes are all over 3 floors of space.
It doesn't help that I have a chronic bed wetter so that I keep having extra laundry from that.
Add to that I need to wash towels, table cloths everyone else's bedding. It's so overwhelming.
My therapist taught me that I get stuck when there's too many steps especially if the steps are spaced apart. This is laundry. Housework I do one thing and then it's done. Laundry I need to keep going back to attend to it. She advised that I don't buy things that need to be hung because that adds space in between steps but shabbos clothing and most frum clothing cannot be put in the washing machine.
I feel so lost with it all.
I need a system for laundry that can be used on autopilot.
I need a system or storage ideas for clothing that is easy to look through, easy to retrieve what you need, and easy to put away.
I'm drowning.
Please help!
