both on a literal and spiritual/abstract level, what's the purpose of this?
on a literal level... afaik the names of the parshiot are man-made and not divine or divinely inspired per se, and it's just a word taken from the first or second verse of the parsha. why not use different words for ease of keeping the different parshiot apart?
on a spiritual level... where the name of the parsha is to symbolize the theme of the entire parsha, why not also have different names to signify that different parshiot have different themes?
was just pondering this today. curious to see what people think.
