Aside from family/neighbors/and kids schools? I'm pretty new to WhatsApp and just curious what's out there, plus I have some time to waste theses day since I'm unemployed till this is over.

So far I joined two deal groups, a group that shares ideas of activities to do with your kids & any virtual events going on for kids, a food distribution group and a giveaway group. Any other interesting type of groups out there that I'm missing?

Why do you need to discuss them again? Isnt that what inamother is for in the first place?

The group I'm on we actually never discuss imamother. It's just a few of us chatting about life in general

We have an amazing chesed chat -
"I'm going to grocery store - does anyone need anything?"
"Does anyone have a banana?"
"My daughter left her lunch at home, is anyone going to BY?"
"My laptop charger isn't working - can I borrow one until the new one arrives"
and on an on. It's amazing! The hashgacha pratis is inspiring. I encourage you to start one in your town!

I'm also in several Tehillim, two family chats, a group of close friends, a shidduchim chat, a chat for parents of frum kids in non-day schools, a chat for my daughter's Girl Scout troop, and we used to have one for our carpool!

Good Shabbos!

Where do you find all these types of groups to join?
Do you need to be invited?

Unfortunately too many Tehilim ones recently.
A few mental health professional chats (I’m a social worker). Other than that I think just family, friends, school and carpool. But it adds up!

I am on several Whatsapp groups where I was invited, but am unaware of public groups anyone can join (like you can join a Facebook group). If there is a directory of different active Jewish women's groups that anyone can join, I would be interested.

A bit off topic, but why would anyone want to be on so many groups and groups that there are so many people on? Besides for family groups I’m on, I’m also on my kids class groups. I was once put on a group with a lot of people and took myself off.

Same here. The less groups , the better. Imamother is just enough to keep me up.
