I need to wash my son's mattress. The outer layer comes off the mattress. It's the same as what a regular adult mattress is made out of, whatever that is. It says on the label that to wash, wash with a rag and soap and water. But then it also says no ironing, and does not say no washing machine.
So, can I put this mattress cover in the washing machine? What's the worst that can happen if I'm not supposed to? Would it shrink if washed in cold water?
Please respond asap.

I'm guessing that if you wash it on delicate and hang dry it won't shrink.
Good luck.
