Does everyone have 2 meals? How come I don't remember doing this in the past?

We do 2 meals; one about noon, and then before the z'man. And a third on on Motzai YK.

I never heard of it until a few years ago because my father was always at work on erev y"k.
Now, my husband eats a first seudah, but I don't. I mean, I wash for lunch anyway, but I don't sit down to a fleishig meal.

The way I was brought up we had a big seuda then cleaned up and had a smaller seuda mafseket. This was all well and good in Israel, where everyone is home EY'K and there is plenty of time. When we lived in the States, my husband would leave work very early so we could get this done. His job was very flexible when it came to things like this.
In our home this year, in Israel, the men went to mincha at 1 pm, came home and we had a big meal with washing, meat, chicken etc. We cleaned up, took showers, a little nap :-) and then had a smaller seuda: washed, soup and a little bit of leftovers. Truth be told, we feel that the less you stuff yourself, the easier the fast will be but it's a mitzva to eat a lot erev Y'K, or at least so we were taught.
We don't eat very much after the fast: bagels with lox, salad, vegetarian soup if we have it from before etc.
Anyway, it's ALL OVER for another year, B'H.

I never heard this was done untill this year. It was never something we did at home, but this year my DH tells me late morning EYK that we are meant to be having a fleishig meal with lechem mishna before chatzos! Luckily we have family nearby that we were able to just show up by, but it was a totally new thing to me.
