Do you enjoy reading Fashion Magazines?
and if yes, do you let your Kids see them?

I used to enjoy reading so many magazines that I got the dr's office discount!
It added up to $$$ plus I felt it wasn't the best chinuch for the kids...or myself. I coudl read anything I want online or even at at bookstore, althought I don't.

I get some, the ones that I get promotions on. But I throw them out when I'm through because I don't think that kids should come across them. Their eyes don't have to be opened to such things before they are old enough to understand it.

I used to love fashion magazines, mainly from a design perspective. I went through a dry spell and then started reading them again only to realize that I never really felt so good about myself after reading them. I came away from them feeling like I needed more clothes, wasn't thin enough, etc., so I just decided that at this point in my life, fashon magazines are not something I need. When I get back into clothing design, then I will begin reading them again.
As for children, I don't really think they are so appropriate. If anything, the advertisements alone are provacative enough! They can read binah bunch and mishpachah kids! Once they are married, adults, etc., they can read them if they want but I will tell them my own personal feelings about them. So if I ever bring them into the house again, they would definitely be kept out of reach.

I used to love looking at them. but dh and I decided that it wasn't what we wanted our home to have. my sister brings them when she comes for shabbat. it is a challenge to not look at them. if I do need the read a magazine craving I try to stick to real simple - cute and pretty 'safe' (ads aren't always super kosher but the content is about cooking clening and where to buy the best vacuum), or I treat myself to a good cooking magazine.

I read some, but not regularly. Depending on the pics and the kids I would let them read or not.
