This might be a stupid question but I really want to hear suggestions embarrassed

When you have your period you end up having all kind of trash that you really dont want other people noticing in your garbage can in the bathroom (like pads, tampon wrappers/applicators etc), what do you do? I try to cover these things up with tissues etc but I still worry a little that one of my guests will notice when they are using the bathroom. What are your tips? What

(OP) You empty out the trash after every trip to the bathroom? I change pads/tampons pretty often so it's not really an option.

no, but if I know guests are coming, I'd empty out the trash, or take it to the kitchen garbage if no one is around, and bury it in there.

You can get little paper baggies, or anything that isn't see through to wrap it in before it goes in the garbage. People can usually guess what's inside but it's still neater than them being on show.

I have my own bathroom now, so I don't have to worry, but I used to cover them with toilet paper in the can so the next peron, including DH who went in, didn't have to look at it.

Only use garbage cans with lids on them, and cover your things with tissues.

Although most of these small bathroom garbage cans don't come with lids, you could find them , I once had one like that, very small though. (now I have a private bathroom) But hey, what happens if your guest also has to dump something in there? Wink

I always wrap any of my sanitary products (used) in tissue or toilet paper before discarding.

I don't need my husband seeing it either, even though he knows its there. And if people STUDY your trash, thats quite sad for them.

I usually just wrap it tissues. What do you do when you are a guest by someone and you have to throw away your pad...etc. but there's no garbage in the bathroom!!! and when you come out a million people are standing there???????

I sometimes put a black shopping bag into the garbage can. I tie it close and open it when I need to discard anything.

I'd do that. I see a lot of little trash cans with the swinging lids. People don't look inside, they just push their item through the door and drop it.

thats a good idea. my dh can't stand the smell so I just put it in the kitchen garbage but as a kid if the the was no garbage in a bathroom or I was embarrassed to leave it in the bathroom garbage I would tuck it under my skirt or something & dump it in the nearest garbage.

At my work it's just me and my boss (female) in her basement. No garbage pail in the bathroom, Thankfully I searched the rest of the basement (part of her house, not our office) and found a trash can where this type of trash can be disposed of. It would be pretty disgusting to put it in the regular office trash which is mostly clean (not smelly). People should generally put a trash can in their bathroom, if not, what can they be thinking?
