So, I have read another thread involving dirty diapers strewn about. I just don't get it?!?!? How hard is it to throw it in the trash? Put garbage cans in every room if that will help (you can get them at the $1 store). I have a dear, dear friend who leaves them everywhere and it's disgusting!!! Some, surround the trash!
I was shopping with a friend (frum) when we saw a diaper just sitting in the parking lot and she said, "I guess there's a frum woman around." I told her it was wrong to say it, but I've never seen another group just leave dirty diapers strewn about. How can this be acceptable? It's unsanitary and stinky and how can you say a bracho anywhere in your home?
And, to leave them in public is a huge chillul hashem. Don't you care about your environment?

My sil and bil leave dirty diapers all around my ILs house when they stay there (they've done it in my house too!) My mil is sooo appreciative to me that I throw out my own diapers and generally clean up after my kids, which I think is so sad. I don't how people are like that.

what do you do with the stinky ones? I find that the longer they sit, the smellier they get. recently we put them in our small, half bathroom taht we don't usually use, in plastic bags. after 2 days and about 3 diapers the smell spread to the hall, even though the door was closed the whole time and I always spray the bag with air freshener. so, where do you keep your smelly diapers until you get a chance to throw them out?

I put my really dirty diapers in thos nappy sacks that smell good.
but I still have to make sure that it goes to my outside garbage cans that day. I dont put it in the bathroom garbage or anywhere upstairs. I take out the kitchen garbages every night so I put it in there.
some ppl use the diaper genie but I just cant fathom having to change it every week. the concept of week old dirty diapers is just 2 gross!

Our "diaper pail" (trash bin) is in the main bathroom, which right now only is used by DS. We keep that window open 24/7, and the bin has a lid on it. We empty it more or less every other day, sometimes every 3rd day, but never more than that. I will NOT double wrap diapers...I hate throwing the extra plastic away. (In fact, we're going to try cloth the next time around...)

Thanks for the responses, but getting back to the original post - To those who leave diapers strewn about your home, why is it so hard to get it into the trash? You can reply using amother, but please, I just don't get it!

well in the middle of the night if the babies wake up it goes on the floor. but the next morning it goes in a garbage can. actually my sis just got me a diaper champ so that's where it's going. my oldest DD even knows how to put it in there. before we were wrapping them in shopping bags.

I must confess I have done it a few times.
Not on purpose, and not for days, but sometimes I'll change DS and then the door rings, or the phone, or someone calls me and I go see what they want, and then I forget that the diaper is still there (I'm preg now too, the amount of things I've forgotten in the last few months is ridiculous), and I wont remember till I walk back into that room.
Its not on purpose, and its not for very long, but it does happen

If it's a dirty nappy, it goes either in the bin in ds's room, or in the kitchen bin, which gets emptied every day.
I would never leave them lying around, unless an emergency happened and I forgot.
My ds gets himself dressed, so he might take off a wet nappy and leave it on the floor though.

Don't you have a diaper pail of some sort in the baby's room?
My son gets at least one diaper change in the middle of the night and it goes into the pail. Every 2 or 3 days the whole garbage bag gets tossed.

Every diaper, wet or dirty get put in the kitchen garbage because that one is emptied every day. I use nappy sacks for the dirty diapers so they don't smell up my kitchen. I have garbage cans in all the bathrooms & bedrooms but I don't want to smell up those rooms so I only put tissues, paper etc in them.

Well that's an ideal circumstance. A lot of the time it's dark, can't find the garbage can and it goes on the floor. it's usually a #1 diaper anyway. Next morning when I'm awake I deal with it properly. Also they get changed probably in every room in the house. They're in two rooms at night. I suppose I could get a garbage can for each room. Haven't done it yet though.
