In our community we have this cat a smart one. He goes into everyones houses through the door (he will actually open the door somehow don't ask), or open the screen and the window and climb in. Somehow he knows were everyones fridges are and helps himself with a meal closes it up (he is very clean doesn't make a mess) and leaves or stays over night on the couch. The men put traps but no luck what so ever. wonder if he is a gillgul or not? this cat must be a real spoiled one I must say. he won't eat from garbages but only eats homemade not smelling garbage food and knows which house has food or not. He once went into someones freezer and snatched a frozen cheesecake right out on the floor and helped himself. he is one strange cat!!!

cute frielich it is a cat alright. it doesn't go into locked doors only ones that are unlocked. I was thinking recently to get a lock on our fridge and freezer and maybe the cat would get the point and stay away. it is a smart cat I must say. mostly on shabbos it attacks the refridgerarators I think it is a cat that was once a person that had a problem in his other life and needs to eat good old shabbos food and some home cooking from the middle of the week once in a while to stay alive.

an update on this strange cat the whole community of boys ran after it when they spotted it all over the whole community with a bow and arrow and a bebe gun. the cat must have gotten really tired and gave up bad thing though since these boys didn't have rachmanus on the cat trapped it and took it to one of the houses and into the bathtub it went and they drowned it. I don't know who had the guts to take it out but someone did and put it into a garbage bag and into the dumpster it went. come to think of it they did this to another cat that was doing the same thing. funny because everytime they get rid of a cat another one always comes in its place.
ps sorry for grossing you all out.

That is horrible. That was one cool cat.
I can't believe a bunch of kids would drown a cat, so cruel.
Was it a stray cat? Maybe it needed a good home.

Ugh I am sickened by the fact that boys children can be so cruel. Maybe their parents should be talking to them about this?

that's sick! but I remember some of the cats in Eretz Yisroel- there are stray cats all over the place. someone in sem adopted one that she found at the kotel (she named it kotel). well eventually, the cat started getting nasty- jumping out at people at making these snarling noises. so we made the girl get rid of her- I'm sure she didn't drown it, though!
cats in eretz yisroel are probably the equivalent to rats in the U.S.

the cats that I have seen around isreal are actually afraid of people. even my kids know that when a cat is around all you have to do is scream kisht and they flee as fast as can be.
now if I can get rid of these chickens that are rooming around especially in the backyard now that would be nice. they are not scared of nobody I almost tripped over one of them walking out of my house they are annoying as anything. anyone care for some nice fresh slaughtered chicken for shabbos?

No wonder the kids were cruel if their fathers were with them on it.
Cats in Israel very different to cats everywhere else. I think the Brits brought them over to get rid of the rats and now there are loads of cats.
More like pests in Israel.
