we are going to Israel imyh June 20th for 2 weeks (   yippy!!!!!!) and were looking for accommodation, hotel is so expensive so its really last resort.
anyone know of any alternative accommodation perhaps?
short term rent apartments.. etc..
we would really like to be in central Jerusalem area but if you know of something like this anywhere else please let me know anyway..

If you are interested in Efrat there are a few holiday flats there.
Alternately there is the Lev Yerushalayim hotel in teh middle of town - walking distance to everything
You may want to advertise on Janglo http://groups.yahoo.com/group/janglo

Or find the harnof list - also I yahoo groups I think and look there.

it looks nice from the outside. it is not in the centre of town but a bus ride away. it could be walking distance from the kotel (about 40 mins)

Chaya Gross has a very, very nice house available for short or long-term rent in Nachlaot. The location is fantastic and the accomadations are very comfortable.
It's a 2 story home and both floors have bedrooms and bathrooms. The first floor has a full kitchen where she provides breakfast, a dining room table, sofas, etc. There are two beautiful porches that give an AMAZING view of the city.
I think she charges 50$ per night/per room. (Each room has 2 beds.) She may have other rates for longer stays. Even though you rent by room, (though I assume if you wanted to pay for it you could reserve the whole house), even if there are other guests there, it's very comfortable. You have your space and privacy.
Also, she generally only rents out to women, but I know she does occasioanlly rent out to couples/families for their vacations.
