anybody here ever make bread for weekday or is it just for shabbos - and if so are there any other types you make - or just a challah dough?

We use our breadmaker during the week and I make challah by hand for Shabbos. During the week we get creative with whatever is in the house. We use combinations of flour (white, whole-wheat, oat, spelt, barley, rye) and flavors (basil, oregano, zaatar, minced garlic, chopped olives, paprika).

we make about 5 loaves at a time and it lasts the week.
of course if there is no time we just buy it.

Can't buy bread here, so I make it. My in-laws bought me a bread machine, but the slices get stale quick, so I just make dough in the machine, then form it into rolls. Deelish! Mr. Green

I make 50/50 wholewheat/white too. My dd is sometimes too skinny and she likes that so I make it - just made some thid morning. On shavuos I make "english muffins". Would like to learn how to make some good italian bread. I do make my own pizza dough.

Kosher bread is scarce here too, so I try to make my own. I've been having trouble with my 50/50 recipes though. Does anyone have a good one I could try?

I make whole wheat bread in the breadmaker. I put all the ingredients in the night before and set the timer and I wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread.
You can't do that in your kitchen aid!!!

When money was VERY tight, I used to make all our own bread and bagels and such . . . it was a LOT of work.

I liked it, but still.

Here it is:
(just keep in mind that I use a Black and Decker bread machine, and your bread machine might have you put the ingredients in a different order)

100% Whole Wheat Bread

1 1/2 cups water
2 TBSP powdered milk ( I omit this because I want my machine pareve, and its fine)
2 TBSP shortening
2 TBSP honey
2 TBSP molasses
1 1/2 tsp salt
3 1/3 cups whole wheat flour (bread flour)
1 1/2 tsp yeast
Put machine on whole grain setting.

ENJOY!

Mine is a 2lb machine. But I just select whole grain setting. This is the recipe that came in the recipe book with the machine.
