Besides for asking LOR: Has anyone had an easier time getting a hetter not to fast on Tisha Baav while nursing/pregnant because it is being pushed off a day? I am not the worst faster but I have never fasted nursing and am scared. I kind of want to guage what most people do and the lieniencies involved when it is bumped till Sunday.

Rav Ovadia Yosef ruled that b/c it's a nidche this year, pg and nursing women do not have to fast this year.
Of course, sefardim tend to be more maykil about these things, as do Israeli poskim vs US poskim.
But yes, it's easier to be maykil this year b/c of the nidche.

Yes.
I asked my Rabbi and he said I don't have to fast and to eat as needed, just not to eat a large meal (meaning, not shiurim, but don't eat a large portion unless needed).

I was told I need to fast. That it was a machlokes is tisha b'av should have been on the 9th or 10th and the 10th is a day or mourning. I don't think I have to be as strict with myself in when to break it, but I definitely need to try more then I would for other fasts.
(You think I can convince my 8 month old to try a bottle???)
Don't forget that if you do eat on Sunday to say havdala first.

my baby is nursing and 9 mts old. I didn't even think to ask. I'm pretty sure I would be told to fast unless I call up on tisha b'av itself and sound desperate. anyway, my baby takes food, as well. but no bottles. The worst experience I ever had was when one of my babies was 3 weeks old yom kippur and nursing exclusively. that was gehennom.

Last year my sister was nursing her 5 month old and he didn't take a bottle. She called her rav b4 tisha bav and he said "If there is even a doubt that you won't have enough milk, you don't have to fast." And last year was not a nidcha. So I'm pretty sure this year is even easier.

There were already quite a few threads on this topic, and the bottom line is that yes, it is more lenient being a nidche, but that doesn't mean every Posek and every circumstance will say the same thing -- but it definitely is worth asking. It will make a difference how old your baby is, how you are feeling, etc.
Personally I am about 31 weeks pregnant and the Posek who I ask (who is in the U.S.) told me that because of the nidche I only need to fast until Chatzos (and to remember to make havdala before eating!). On a normal Tisha B'av he is usually very strict about fasting the entire thing, even when pregnant/ nursing/ immediately postpartum.

I have this exact situation- 8 month old who loves solids and nursing, but hates bottles. Guess what? My Rav said not to fast. Do I think I would probably be okay if I did? Sure, but I'm not going to take the risk with my milk if my rav said I don't have to. I never fasted pregnant either, except yom Kippur, and the rav told me to stay in bed.
My point is--every rav is different, and you never know.
I mentioned to DH that maybe the rav was lenient because we are fasting on the 10th. He said it's a possibility, but knowing our rav, he would tell me not to fast on a regular year also.

Definitely depends on age too. DS#4 will be exactly a month on 10 Av...no fast for me.

Inspired by this thread, I just asked since I'm nursing and was told that if I can fast, that I should. But if I feel weak or am in pain, then I can be lenient.

I kinda think I would have gotten the same answer also if it wasn't a nidche. Last year when I was pregnant my rav said I didn't have to fast at all on Tisha B'av.

Nursing a 6 week old and told not to even try. Same rav told me with dd1 who was 5 weeks on tisha biav that I have to fast. I'm kind of happy it's a nidcheh. Was not looking forward to fasting, nursing a newborn and looking after 4 kids under 5 in this heat

In my experience I think we are given a special co'ach to fast that we don't have on other days. I happen to be a good faster, but I've done well even in situations that would have been even more difficult--ex. One yom kippur I was late to my seudah hamafsekes so I went into y"k having eaten a banana, piece of gefilte fish, and chicken soup broth--one of my best y"k ever. When I was expecting my older son, the day before tisha b'av the a/c broke at work and I drank at least 12 glasses of water and was worried how I would manage. I had to work and was told to break my fast when I felt the need to. I made it to mincha when I found out some tragic news and I lost my appetite, made it until the end of the fast. This year I am a yoledes within 30 days so I was told that I can break it when I feel the need to.
