This is not a theoretical question. I can buy meat, but all cuts cost the same. (a very good price) Which cut would you get?

so far I've ordered rib steak,& flanken. What else is good.

Veal roast! All my kids eat it, even the very picky self-proclaimed-vegetarian-except-for-hot-dogs, and it's usually one of the most expensive roasts.

If you don't mind messy, you could make spare ribs.

The reason it is so cheap is becausue it comes direct from the shechita plant. We are hosting some of the mashgichim for shabbos and they are bringing us meat for cost price.

But only beef and only big peices. Of course I can cut it to any size I want.

I like rib becasue it takes about 5 minutes to cook. Instant supper. is there any reason to get a cheaper cut? Is there a similar cut of kosher beef that you can also grill instantly?

I did ask him for a few roasts as well.

maybe I'll ask for spare ribs - I've actually never had beef spare ribs. Are they anything like lamb spare ribs?

The shechita plant is not going to be able to supply pickled meats, which is what corned beef is. The butcher pickles the meat, not the shochet.

I think brisket is a good idea. Standing rib roast and rib eye too. Spare ribs, IMO, is a waste. You'll be paying mostly for bone. Maybe ask for a minute roast too.

No, they're much, much better! They look like something that Fred Flintstone would eat, and are the meatiest ribs. Best way to cook them: first, season with a spice rub and bake covered at 250F for 6-8 hours or until the meat has tenderized and is about to fall off the bone, then finish on the grill with tons of BBQ sauce. The other way to enjoy beef ribs is to cook a standing prime rib roast, then cut the meat off the bones before carving the roast. The bones, which served as a rack during the roasting period, are there for your enjoyment.

And if you can get a tenderloin, you can cut it into steaks, roasts, or even cubes for beef brochettes.
