just got this from a friend:

My husband's friend and former chavrusa at Kol Yaakov, Monsey, a young father of small children, was hit by a car 2 days ago. The driver didn't stop. Kalman is now in a coma with his body smashed and on life support machines. PLEASE DAVEN and take on an extra mitzva in the zchus that this wonderful person should have a refuah and his wife and children have him home and complete again very soon. Please make a misheberach in shul this shabbos for:

Kalman Avraham ben Malka Miriam

Thank you.

May we only share good news.

got another e-mail with current info:

Quote:
B"H Kalman is improving!! Still in the medically-induced coma, but responding. It appears that the doctors are waiting for one lung to heal more before they can completely take him off respirator. (They took him off partially before, whatever that means!) His eyes open occasionally, and he follows instructions (ex: when told to lift his finger, he lifts his finger) ...

A good friend of ours has been taking a shift sitting with Kalman at night. When he was learning Torah out loud next to Kalman's bed, Kalman raised his hand. He thought Kalman wanted him to stop, so he quieted down. But Kalman raised his hand again, so he continued learning out loud for him.

Glad to be sharing positive information!!

The journey will be slow but very optimistic!

Keep davening please for Kalman Avraham ben Malka Miriam!

Chag Kosher V'Sameach everyone!

an update:

Quote:
Off respirators, transferred to Mount Sinai.
That's all I know as of 2 days ago.

Somebody knows one of the EMT's who admitted Kalman on the day of his accident. He was AMAZED at his progress B"H.

Keep davening!

Another Update:

Quote:
A friend just called me and told me he visited Kalman today. Kalman is awake, talking, aware, and will be GOING HOME THIS WEEK! He has a long road of physical therapy ahead, but B"H he has no neurological damage. This is amazing. Thank you ALL for your tefillos, and I know your children have been davening as well. Please tell them their tefillos are working!! He's going home to his family B"H!!!

Chasdei Hashem

May we all only hear besuros tovos and share simchos always!

Tizku leMitzvos!
