We plan on traveling from the US to Israel with 1 baby, one infant and 3 children. - if that helps with the response.

I have flown Israir both domestic (within Israel) and New York to Israel. Within Israel the service was superb, but on the us-israel flight the service was $ for $ worse than what you would have paid on El Al. Seats smaller, not as well-trained attendance, no individual movie screens, etc.

If you are traveling with babies make sure you tell them in advance to reserve a bassinet seat for you. A woman on my flight with an infant was unable to get one because she hadn't called in advance.

Also, a warning, our Israel flight to NY was CANCELLED, and we had to scramble to change our travel plans at the last minute. Be aware that Israir is a charter airline, and this means that they reserve the right to cancel your flight within 72 hrs of the scheduled time. So be sure to check in often to make sure your flight is still on.

I heard from friends that have used them that they were very happy with the service on the flights but they tend to cancel a lot of flights, sometimes last minute and they don't let you know.

Thanks everyone. I think we will try El Al - don't want any chance of flight cancellation!

My grandfather took israir and he said it was bad news. For one the seats were so small that a skinny person by him wasn't comfortable.
