OP this thread is a year old and I do not think you ever updated us, did you change to a shpitzel in the end ? wanna share about that?

Hi I didn’t change yet. But I’ve gotten much more comfortable with my Shpitzel and much better at binding. I wear it every Friday night at home even when we have company, but I don’t wear it out yet. I have amassed quite a nice tichel collection already

You must hurry up and change before they go out of style.

I wear a vaiseh tichel Friday night and yes I wear a Shirtzel. My collection is colored, I wear my Shpitzel sometimes Shabbos by day and randomly throughout the week (at home only) but I bought them for when I change

Good for you, OP!

Shpitzlach look so elegant and classy, IMHO. I'm yeshivish, so I have absolutely no reason or excuse to switch, but sometimes I wish I could just for aesthetic reasons.

Ashrecha.
Kudos to you
..there is an inner beauty than shines from the face of a woman wearing a shpitzel only other headcovering I think is same is mishpachat.
I'd love to wear a Vassa tichel shab/yom tov but not ready to make a "statement "
-chasidish, sheitle wearer

I'm also from the tichel/mitpachat lovers and would love to switch from a sheitel but without the "statement" part. Don't want any comments on how special I am when I'm only interested in doing it for aesthetic or practical reasons.

Thank you! You can buy one for your house if you really like it. I love wearing mine with a vaiseh tichel even though I didn’t switch yet

I guess that’s not how your family goes. I don’t know you or where you live, but it’s not such a big statement to wear a vaiseh tichel, especially if your chassidish. There was a thread about a litvishe lady who wanted to start wearing a vaiseh tichel

Oh my. You have a sister who wears a Shpitzel at home? I’m probably not your sister though…

Friday nights, yes.
I know she's been wanting to switch for a while now.
She's never been comfortable with the whole shaitel concept.

..I live in mainstream chasidish neighborhood LOL

It is a statement. Like all others it will get forgotten shortly. But is a statement. Who wears and who doesn't.
Only lichtzen, liel shab, by day too or only yomem neroyim and hashana rabba...
Used to be norm litzish and chadidish wasn't just a chadidish minhig.
Lol I'm not usually type worried to do what will please others have no problem thinking for self but...

What exactly is holding you back?
You have it for over a year. You wear it Friday nights.
Even if your only form is white, you can still use that vochen too.
Do you need a push from someone or are you waiting to just get that push yourself?

This warmed my heart. I always feel so self conscious at simchas lately. Almost Everyone is sporting the most glamorous sheitlech, and I feel so different and sometimes nebby.
Never thght pple think of a shpitzel as elegant.
(Majority look down at us.)

I would like to second this post, as much as you may think I look confident in sporting my shpitzel and I agree that I sometime look great, If I may say so myself, yet when walking into a simcha or social setting where I am the only one with this levish its sometime overwhelming and I feel like I am being spoken to like a rebitzin when the only reason I wear it is because of my family, so to other complimenters (made up word, I know) as well, its appreciated

I see this post is old but people are commenting on it.

OP, where did you buy all your shpitzel gear?

I’m curious where someone can buy them

There are shpitzel ladies in most chasidish enclaves, think Willi, KJ, Monsey, BP, etc, they sell the shpitzel and basic gear, and then there is a whole separate business of forms and tichel binding, multiple sellers in each area
