Angel Hair and Purple Cabbage Salad
from a cookbook my coworker's wife helped author in the country one summer

Salad:
box angel hair pasta
2 bunches scallions
1 head purple cabbage shredded or 1 bag Bodek

Dressing:
2 dashes salt
1 dash pepper
1/2 cup sesame seeds, toasted if possible
1 cup vinegar
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup oil

Cook pasta and put in bowl with minced scallions and your cabbage. Add the dressing and mix well.

Let marinate in fridge for a few hours.

I hate veggies... so this one was really easy and yummy. Take leftover pasta (any shape or kind, I have yet to try this with rice) and add olives form the can or jar. Toss with spicy mustard, a drop of mayo and salt, pepper and garlic. Mix and enjoy. Very filling and a great addition to a dairy supper when you have fish or something.

here goes jewgal:

use sphagettini,or fettachuni noodles.

fry onions, red pepper, and green peppers.( as much as you want)

dressing

1/2 cup soya sauce
1/2 oil
1/2 cup sugar

this dressing is enough for a full box of noodles, so if you use less noodles, cut down on the dressing.

I know this is an old post but I was looking for a pasta salad recipe and want to try this one but I am not sure if it's supposed to be served hot or cold. Anyone know?

I have a similar recipe that calls for serving it warm, but my dh and I actually prefer it cold. I would tell you to try it both ways, but prob cool first, since the longer it sits, the better the flavor. If you don't like it cold in the fridge after a day, then you can warm it up. YUM!

Either way is good. My dd loves this one and makes it all the time-its become her "specialty"

I think its best neither hot nor cold, but rather room temp/warm-ish. like refrigerate it, and take the container out an hour before you want to serve it, maybe microwave it a drop if its during the week.

Pasta with Peanut Dressing

Cook very thin spaghetti.

Dressing:
6 Tbsp unsalted peanuts
2 tsp minced gingerroot or ΒΌ tsp ground ginger
4 Tbsp lemon juice
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp honey
8 tsp vegetable oil
1 Tbsp sesame oil
2 tsp crushed garlic
4 Tbsp water

In food processor, combine all ingredients and puree until smooth. Toss dressing over pasta, add chopped green onions.

You can add slices of cooked lean beef or chicken to salad if you wish.

Just made this (I used PB instead of peanuts bec I didnt have any) and its super yummy.
