I have some fish and I would like to make it into gefilte fish. I have carrots, eggs, flour, matza meal, onions, etc... I think thats all the needed ingredients.
I would like it to taste ideally like the jarred or cans as opposed to the loaf, but if thats not possible, a standard loaf one is fine, as long as the recipe doesnt fall apart as you boil it as mine is apt to.

What kind of fish do you have? That makes a big difference.

Not sure. I forgot its name. Its white fillets that I used to make fish-n-chips. they're each about a little bigger than a man's palm. If you say the name I'll remember. Maybe sole?

I found this recipe but I never tried it also sounds like a huge recipe
2 kg fish
2 carrots
3 onions
1/2 c oil
2 c ?? oil ( which is it this is weird! I assume this line is a mistake)
2 c sugar
2-2 1/2 T salt
1 c matzo meal
8 eggs
dash of pepper
Mix for a long time appox. 15 min. Add balled or logged mixture to boiling water. You may flavor the water w/ salt o sugar if desired.

add bread crumbs ( from scratc will give it a better flavour) till is not so sticky, let sit for 30 min aprox.
meantime boil water with 2tbs black peper 2tbs sugar 1 carrot 1 onion
add fish, boil for an hour ( u can make fish balls) or until the feel harder but soft ( u know what consistency they should be;))
