That book looks great. There is something very refreshing and positive about it, that The Wonder of Becoming You seemed to be missing??

thanks chavamom. I know that I hated the wonder of becoming you but I didn't know what else was out there that would be appropriate for her. I will check the library first. I hope she likes it.

And does anyone know why the number eight (purposely spelling it out) comes out like this: 8) It's been happening as long as I've been a member here and it's kind of annoying, can Yael do anything about it?

8 comes out fine unless you add a ) parenthesis ... then you have 8) so if you want 8 and ) skip a space 8 ) or else you will have 8) ... comprende

The Care and Keeping of You is the ONLY non-Jewish book I reseached that I gave my daughters. And it's even a little daring for a Chareidi family - I.e. graphic illustrations of girls at different stages, talk of tampons, etc.

With each daughter, I bought a personal copy of The Wonder of Becoming You, and we sat down to read it and discuss it together.

I bought them deodorant when my nose told me to, and bras well before they started their periods. I gave them a package of pads to keep in their rooms when they would start.

With my third daughter, I might wait longer to start this education, since her older sisters started later than I anticipated. She already has a few cute hand me down bras waiting in her closet.
