I think 2 is the ideal age to start although it really depends on if the child is ready

I started at age 2, and would not do it again. I wouldnt start before 2.5. she is a smart, mature girl, she was just too young...

if they can talk and can understand when they go in their pamper they are most likely ready. most children have a fear of going in the potty - make it exciting for them. make a big deal by buying them pretty little underwear giving them little treats and telling them how grown up they are.

there is also this book I forgot the name but it teaches u how to toilet train in 3 days

Never before 2.9. 5/6 of those I trained were dry within a week max. The other one I waited until a week before the third birthday, and was dry in a couple of days.

I don't think that there is an age that you can choose to start. You have to see when a child is ready. You can definitely talk about it and try putting them on the potty, toilet, etc., but if they're not ready then there's going to be a lot of messes and frustration- good luck!

Thumbs Up

Every child is different, so the ideal age for each child is going to be different. Look for signs of readiness, such as awareness of body functions, and interest in the potty. Its generally a much, much easier process when the kid is ready.

And if you try and the kid isn't ready? Stop. Go back to diapers, try again another time.
