Here's my very simple, but delicious split pea soup recipe:

1 cup green split peas
1 cup yellow split peas
1 medium onion, diced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 carrot, diced (I like to use a couple more carrots)
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 cups water

Combine all ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil. Let simmer, on low flame for 1 1/2 hours. If you reheat this soup, you may not to add some water because it gets very thick once it cools off.

You can probably use all yellow split peas instead of the combination of green & yellow.

Do not blend it afterwards! The split peas make a mush themselves when cooked. If you blend it, it changes texture and is not as good.

This sounds really good

Do you think it would work in the crockpot?
