Why not just do a vegetable soup with rice or cous cous? If you buy aromatics (dill, 'soup greens' and use the leaves from the celery), you won't miss not having the powdered soup mix.

There's also tomato soup you can make and serve it with a scoop of rice in the center....

I would also suggest tomato vegetable soup.

or maybe cream of celery...or potato soup with the celery chopped up in it.

if you really want to get rid of the celery.

a potato soup it is with celery and lots of dill (I happen to have a lot of that as well). Maybe I'll stick in some barley and what not. Thank you.

How about split pea soup with celery and dill? I made that for supper (and for the freezer) last night?

I usually do chicken soup for shabbos.

my mil makes a delicous turkey soup-

turkey necks, butthernut squash, yellow zuchini, green zuchini, knob cellery, don't remember e/t off hand-

once it's all cooked she blends it w/ a hand blender. then she removes the turkey from the bone & puts it back into the soup in small pieces...

carrot and coriander soup. you can use frozen or pre sliced carrots if you are exhausted.

I think this is correct:

2 lb carrots (might be 1 lb)
4 stalks celery
1 onion
chop and fry in oil or margerine for a few minutes add 1 tsp cumin powder and 1 tsp coriander powder and mix. Add 4 cups soup stock (or water with soup powder, you can try plain water but it will have less flavour) and cook for about 40 minutes or till soft. blend.

I don't have a blender but thank you to all who took the time to post some recipes.
I ended up with a great throw in the pot soup.
I too lots onions, some garlic and tons of celery and sauteed it then carrots lots potatoes and a handful of barley. I brought to boil with salt and pepper. When it got thick I took a potato masher and got it chunky. It was simple and full of flavor.
