I don't know if this is a dessert really, but it was the closest category I could find.

I just got a microwave popcorn popper (for reguar kernels). Any tasty ideas (other than salt and garlic powder) to toss the popcorn with?

And yes, I know I could melt chocolate, but the inyan is that this be low(er) fat.... Smile

I saw a brand that came with olive oil and rosemary ... you can try that ...

can you tell me what that popcorn popper is ... I am supposing it's cheaper than the ready made bags ... my kids eat them like there is no tomorrow ...

yum! fresh popped popcorn is THE best. way better then the bags. You can really put any spices you want and just a drop of oil to make 'em stick.

It's just a plastic bowl with a lid that I got at Walmart for $9 last night.

The popcorn kernels, even orville reddenbacher brand are cheaper than buying the microwave stuff...and most microwave stuff is dairy non CY so it's not even an option for me.

the rosemary sounds good...maybe I can grind mine up (bc unground is very er...chewy...)

I was actually trying to find a solution because seemed like everything has butter ... then I found orville redenbocker simply salted and the olive oil rosemary (which I didn't get cause it was more money) ... so basically we can use any bowl ... I'm not spending $9 on a bowl I can tell you that much ... maybe I'll use brown paper lunch bags ...

If you want something a little more sophisticated, I have a great caramel popcorn recipe that you can make with popped kernels. It's probably a little on the higher end, calorie-wise, though...

Greenie you can take a big parve pot put some oil on the bottom, add kernals and salt (or you can salt later), put on lid and put on the stove listen to the popping (as you would when using a microwave too) and when the popping slows down take it off the stove and *voila* popcorn, no fancy machine to take up extra space in your kitchen needed Wink

The good thing about those poppers though is that they can keep little ones pretty entertained for a few minutes.

*edited a mispelling!

The bowl is one specifically designed to go into the microwave with popcorn. Oil is optional.
