My ds had a friend over tonight. He was wonderful, nothing wrong with him. I offered to take him home because I had to pick up another ds from a b-day party and we were passing his house anyway. My ds and him didn't really want him to go home yet because they didn't get to play much. They called up his mother and she said that she'll pick him up at 8:30. I figured, okay, it better be 8:30 because that's when my kids have to go to bed. 8:30 came and went and no mother. When 9:00 rolled around, I told my ds that he has to go to bed and his friend can read a book on the couch, so that's what they did (with a lot of protesting, of course ). By the time 9:30 came, I told him to call his mother, but she wasn't home . In the end, his brother picked him at and 9:50 and of course apologized. What happened was, his mother was supposed to pick him up, but she didn't get back from wherever she was. Why they didn't call, I don't know! BTW, my ds and his friend are 9 and has school tomorrow. It's normal for people in this country to go to sleep late. It's so normal that I just found out that a camp that my kids are not going to ..their hours are from 1-8 .
This is just a vent. I'm not going to say anything to the mother.
